    Our Mission:

To promote the need for organ and tissue donation through public awareness and education.    To provide information on social, emotional and financial support opportunities to transplant recipients, caregivers and to those awaiting transplantation.

    Our Beginning:

The National Organization for Transplant Enlightenment (N.O.T.E) was started in 1985 by Thomas (Tom) Thrasher. Tom was the first successful heart transplant recipient in the state of Florida.
Through his experience, Tom saw the need for an organization that would promote organ and tissue donation through public awareness and education. His efforts helped eliminate misinformation about organ transplants and showed the public that there is quality of life after transplant.

A Letter From The President

The Question is asked, why should I donate my organs.
The answer is simple, because you may save up to 8 lives through organ donation and enhance many others through tissue donation.
Last year alone, organ donors made more than 28,000 transplants possible. Another one million people received cornea and other tissue transplants that helped them recover from trauma, bone damage, spinal injuries, burns, hearing impairment and vision loss.
Unfortunately, thousands die every year waiting for a donor organ that never comes. You have the power to change that.
